About the event
The Breakthrough Theatre of Winter Park will hold a Play in a Week Camp from JUNE 19-JUNE 23, 2023.
This camp is for students aged 7-17.
Students will start the day playing theater games, then rehearse and perform a play with only one week of rehearsals. They will learn all aspects of producing a play including acting, makeup, costumes, sound, and lighting.
This year's play is "All I Really Need to Know I Learned From Being a Zombie", a play by Jason Pizzarello.
In today's chaotic, challenging world, we often don't know where to turn for help. Little did we know that life's most valuable lessons lie within the undead. Finally, zombies engage us with musings on life, death, and everything in between. They show us that brains aren't everything...you are what you eat...and what doesn't kill you makes you...more alive.
***THIS CAMP CULMINATES WITH 3 PERFORMANCES OF THE PLAY on Friday, June 23, at 7:30 p.m.,
Saturday, June 24, at 7:30 p.m.,
Sunday, June 25 at 3 p.m.***
***Kids must be available for all 3 performances to get a role in the play.***
Camp is held Monday through Friday from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
Camp Cost: $100.00
EVERYONE IS ACCEPTED, REGARDLESS OF EXPERIENCE!
Students will receive a drink and snack each day. They may bring food from home and there will also be items at the theater for sale. FRIDAY IS FREE PIZZA DAY!
