EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT CENTER

WHO AND WHAT ARE WE?

Breakthrough Theatre Company’s Educational Support Center is a safe space for an enriching learning environment. In that pursuit, all members of our community are treated with respect and dignity; all voices are honored, and all contributions are valued. Our shared mission for the center is to nurture the potential of each child; to celebrate his or her individuality; and to offer every child the opportunity to lead as well as learn, to teach as well as explore.

Our Educational Support Center embraces all students, regardless of race, gender (including non-binary), sexual orientation, disabilities, or national or ethnic origin. We welcome ALL students, knowing our community is richer for its diversity.

WHAT DO WE OFFER?

The Educational Support Center offers guidance from experienced teachers for FLVS and/or homeschool students in third to eighth grades. We are here to walk alongside your child and support each child’s learning. While we are not a school, we are here to support, offer guidance, and give one on one instruction.

Meet Wade Hair, Our Head Facilitator

Wade Hair is the owner and artistic director of the Breakthrough Theatre Company.

Before opening the theater, Wade was a teacher with Orange County Public Schools for 13 years. He taught at Wheatley Elementary, Robinswood Middle School, and started the theater programs at Howard Middle School, Ocoee High School, and Wekiva High School. While at Howard Middle School, he won Teacher of the Year, and also served as the coordinator of the City of Orlando’s Afterschool All-Stars Program.

He graduated from UCF with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education, with an added certification in Drama.

Wade has been performing/directing/producing for over 40 years, starting with the Orlando Boys Choir in 3rd grade. His first lead role was King Vitamin in his 5th grade play. Good times, lol.

He left teaching to open the Breakthrough Theatre, which is in its 14th season. He is the proud father of two wonderful children (both married) and a cat, a proud grandfather of two, and he loves traveling (especially to NYC), reading, music, theme parks, history, and theater.

He is proud to run the theater with his parents and a family of supportive friends.
