Breakthrough Artistic Director, Wade Hair, had a dream: to open and run his own theater. After being diagnosed with cancer, his parents helped him make that dream a reality. Wade taught 13 years with Orange County Public Schools (from 4th grade to 12th grade) before retiring to open the Breakthrough. Wade wanted to share his love of theater with the community and present the shows that he loves.



The Breakthrough Theatre is a family-owned and run business. Wade is the artistic director. His father, Sid, is the business manager, and his mother, Annie, runs the concession stand. Wade's children, Erynn and Daniel, also chip in when they can.

Everyone at the Breakthrough, (performers, costumers, choreographers, set builders, sound people, light people), are all volunteers. Not one single person, including the Hair family, gets paid a salary.
